Full Numerology Calculator (Free) by Date of Birth and Name: Your Complete Numerology Report

Numerology Calculator by Date of Birth and Name: A numerology reading is never really one number. It is a small set of numbers drawn from your name and your date of birth, each describing a different part of you — your direction in life, your everyday nature, your talents, your inner wants, the face you show others — and the most useful insights come from reading them together.

This free report brings the whole set into one place. Enter your full name and date of birth and you get the three numbers Indian numerology begins with — Mulank, Bhagyank and Namank — along with your Soul Urge, Personality and Maturity numbers, your Personal Year and Month, the two Bridge numbers between your core numbers, both kinds of “missing numbers”, and a Karmic Debt check. Every number shows how it was worked out, and nothing is locked behind a payment.

The short answer: Mulank comes from your birth day; Bhagyank (Life Path) from your whole date of birth; Namank (Destiny) from all the letters of your name. Soul Urge uses the vowels, Personality the consonants. The report adds Maturity, your Personal Year, bridges, your Lo Shu grid and Karmic Lessons — and checks for Karmic Debt numbers 13, 14, 16 and 19.

What Is in Your Numerology Report

We looked at what the leading numerology sites include in a free chart — the most established ones cover five core numbers plus Maturity and the current Personal Year — and at what Indian readers expect from an ank jyotish report, which usually starts from Mulank, Bhagyank and Namank and often adds a Lo Shu grid. This report brings both together:

You will also see the Mulank and Bhagyank called the Driver and Conductor numbers in many Indian guides, and the Destiny number called the Namank. They are the same numbers under different names. And no birth time is needed: numerology uses only your name and date, unlike a horoscope.

The Core Numbers

Life Path Number (Bhagyank)

Calculated from your full date of birth, the Life Path is usually treated as the most important number in the chart. It describes the overall direction of your life — the strengths you lean on and the lessons you keep meeting. It can come out as a master number, 11, 22 or 33, which this report keeps rather than reducing; about one date in ten produces one. Indian numerology links each number to one of the nine planets, and the report shows yours. The full meaning is on our Life Path Number Calculator.

Root Number (Mulank)

Drawn only from the day of the month you were born, the Mulank describes your core temperament — how you handle an ordinary day. It is often the number that feels most like “you”. It too carries a ruling planet: 1 the Sun, 2 the Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn, 9 Mars. See our Mulank Calculator.

Destiny Number (Namank, also called Expression)

Calculated from every letter of your full name, the Destiny number describes your natural talents and what you are equipped to do. If the Life Path is the road, the Destiny is the toolkit. It can also be a master number — across 600 common Indian names we tested, 16% landed on 11, 22 or 33. Read more on our Destiny Number Calculator.

Soul Urge Number (Heart’s Desire)

Built from the vowels of your name, the Soul Urge points to what you most deeply want — the motivation behind your actions rather than the actions themselves. It can be a master number too. See our Soul Urge Number Calculator.

Personality Number

Built from the consonants, the Personality number describes the side of you people meet first — the cover of the book. The vowel total and the consonant total always add up to the whole-name total, which is a useful check if you work it out by hand. See our Personality Number Calculator.

Maturity and Your Personal Year

Maturity Number

Add your Life Path and Destiny and reduce, and you have the Maturity number: the direction your life tends to move towards as it goes on — often described as the goal the second half of life is working towards. It is traditionally said to strengthen from the thirties onward, though our Maturity Number Calculator explains why the single “age 35” that most guides give is too neat.

Personal Year and Personal Month

Your Personal Year number runs in a nine-year cycle and describes the theme of the current calendar year — 1 for beginnings, 5 for change, 9 for completion. It is worked out from your birth day, birth month and the current year, always reduced to one digit. The report calculates it for the current year automatically, together with your Personal Month. There is a genuine debate about whether a personal year begins on 1 January or on your birthday; this report follows the majority calendar-year view, which our Personal Month Calculator discusses in full.

A Full Worked Example

Here is one report built by hand. Take ROHIT VERMA, born 12 June 1988.

From the date. The day 12 reduces to 3, the month is 6, and 1988 reduces to 26 and then 8. Adding gives 3 + 6 + 8 = 17, which reduces to 8 — the Life Path, ruled by Saturn. The Mulank is the day alone: 12 reduces to 3, ruled by Jupiter.

From the name, using Chaldean values. R(2) O(7) H(5) I(1) T(4) = 19 and V(6) E(5) R(2) M(4) A(1) = 18, so the name totals 37, which reduces to 10 and then 1 — the Destiny. The vowels O(7) I(1) E(5) A(1) total 14, reducing to 5 — the Soul Urge. The consonants total 23, reducing to 5 — the Personality. Check: 14 + 23 = 37.

The rest of the report. Maturity is Life Path 8 + Destiny 1 = 9. In 2026 his Personal Year is 3 + 6 + 1 (2026 reduces to 10, then 1) = 10, reducing to 1 — a year of beginnings. His bridges are 8 − 1 = 7 between Life Path and Destiny, and 5 − 5 = 0 between Soul Urge and Personality. His Soul Urge working passed through 14, a Karmic Debt number.

How to Calculate Your Numbers From Date of Birth and Name

  • Life Path (Bhagyank) — reduce the day, month and year each to one digit, add them, and reduce again, keeping 11, 22 and 33 if they appear.
  • Mulank — reduce the day of the month to one digit.
  • Destiny (Namank) — give each letter its Chaldean value, add them all, and reduce, keeping master numbers. Chaldean values run from 1 to 8 only; no letter is ever worth 9, though a name can still total 9.
  • Soul Urge — add only the vowels, and reduce, keeping master numbers.
  • Personality — add only the consonants, and reduce.
  • Maturity — add Life Path and Destiny, and reduce, keeping master numbers.
  • Personal Year — add your birth day, birth month and the current year, each reduced, and reduce the total to one digit. Add the current month and reduce again for your Personal Month.
  • Bridges — take the difference between Life Path and Destiny, and between Soul Urge and Personality, using single digits.

Mulank, Bhagyank aur Namank Kaise Nikale?

Mulank sirf janm-tareekh ke din se nikalta hai — din ke ankon ko jodkar ek single digit tak layein. Jaise 12 tareekh ho to 1 + 2 = 3, yaani Mulank 3. Isse Driver Number bhi kehte hain.

Bhagyank ke liye poori janm-tareekh lein — din, mahina aur saal ko alag-alag single digit tak reduce karein, phir teenon ko jodkar dobara reduce karein. Jaise 12 June 1988: din 12 se 3, mahina 6, saal 1988 se 26 aur phir 8. Ab 3 + 6 + 8 = 17, aur 1 + 7 = 8. Bhagyank hua 8 — isse Conductor Number bhi kehte hain. Reduce karte waqt 11, 22 ya 33 aa jaaye to wahin ruk jaayein, kyunki ye master numbers maane jaate hain.

Namank naam se nikalta hai: har akshar ko Chaldean table ka ank dein, sabko jodein aur reduce karein. Naam angrezi akshron mein likhein — table sirf A se Z ke liye bani hai. Upar diya calculator teenon ek saath nikal deta hai, aur har kadam dikhata bhi hai.

Two Kinds of Missing Numbers

“Missing numbers” is one of the most searched ideas in numerology — and one of the most confused, because two completely different things go by that name. Your report shows both, side by side.

 Lo Shu gridKarmic Lessons
Comes fromThe digits of your date of birthThe letters of your name
TraditionChinese, widely used in Indian numerologyWestern (counted with Pythagorean values)
Missing meansA digit from 1 to 9 never appears in your dateNo letter in your name carries that value

The Lo Shu grid

The Lo Shu grid places every digit of your date — zeros left out — into a fixed 3×3 square. For 12 June 1988, the digits 1, 2, 6, 1, 9, 8, 8 fill it like this:

 92

88116

A repeated digit is read as a stronger quality; an empty box as a quality to develop. Two facts from counting every date from 1926 to 2026 help put this in proportion. First, no date fills all nine boxes — the average date leaves four or five empty. Second, the most commonly missing numbers are 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, each missing for about two people in three, largely because the year fills 1 and 9 for almost everyone born in the 1900s. A missing number is normal, not a defect — so be wary of anyone selling expensive products to “fill” one. Our Lo Shu Grid Calculator covers the arrows, repetitions and traditional meanings in full.

One real disagreement is worth knowing. Some practitioners also add the Mulank and Bhagyank into the grid as extra digits. This report, like our Lo Shu calculator, uses only the date’s own digits — but it also tells you what would change the other way. That matters more than it sounds: adding the Mulank and Bhagyank changes the missing numbers for about two people in three (67.4% of dates). For Rohit it would fill the 3, leaving 4, 5 and 7.

Karmic Lessons

Karmic Lessons count how often each value from 1 to 9 appears among the letters of your name, using Pythagorean values — the standard for counting, as our Karmic Lesson Calculator explains. A value that never appears is a lesson the tradition says you are here to learn.

Here the counting reveals something every Indian reader should know. In our sample of 600 common Indian names, 81% were missing a 6. The reason is spelling, not destiny: the letters worth 6 are F, O and X, and all three are uncommon in Indian names written in English. After that came 3 (60%), 2 (50%) and 8 (48%). So if your report shows a missing 6, you share it with most of the people around you — read it lightly.

Bridge Numbers: Measuring the Gap

Bridge numbers come from the work of Hans Decoz, one of the best-known modern numerologists. The idea is simple: take the difference between two core numbers, and the result shows what helps close the gap between them. The report gives the two standard bridges.

  • Life Path / Destiny bridge — the gap between the road you are on and the talents you carry.
  • Soul Urge / Personality bridge — the gap between what you want inside and what people see.

The bridge number is read by its own qualities: a bridge of 1 calls for more initiative, 2 for patience and cooperation, 3 for expression, 4 for structure, 5 for flexibility, 6 for care, 7 for reflection, 8 for confidence and self-direction. A bridge of 0 means the two numbers already agree. For Rohit, a Life Path 8 with a Destiny 1 gives a bridge of 7 — his ambitious road and his independent toolkit meet most easily through reflection, stepping back to understand what he actually wants. His Soul Urge and Personality are both 5, a bridge of 0: what he wants and what people see are the same.

What Your Numbers Say Together

Each tool page on this site explains one number in depth. What no single page can show is how they relate.

Life Path against Destiny: the road and the toolkit

When the two sit close in character, life tends to feel coherent — your abilities point where your circumstances do. When they differ sharply, the usual experience is a quiet friction: being good at something that does not match where you keep ending up. Rohit’s Life Path 8 is about building material achievement, while his Destiny 1 is a talent for going first and working independently — workable, but working for someone else is likely to chafe. The bridge number tells you what helps.

Soul Urge against Personality: the want and the mask

This is the most revealing pair. When they match, you are broadly the same person inside and out. When they diverge, the gap is the insight — a private, reflective Soul Urge 7 behind a warm, sociable Personality 3 describes someone widely seen as outgoing who quietly needs far more solitude than anyone realises.

Mulank against Life Path: the day and the decade

Your Mulank governs an ordinary Tuesday; your Life Path the shape of a decade. Where they differ, the common pattern is someone whose daily temperament does not obviously predict the direction their life takes — a restless Mulank 5 on a steady Life Path 4 often builds something solid without ever feeling especially settled while doing it.

A number that repeats

When the same digit appears two or three times across your report, tradition reads it as amplified. Rohit’s Soul Urge 5 alongside Personality 5 means the desire for freedom and variety is both what he wants and what people see — doubled, with little to soften it. A strength that concentrated usually brings its shadow at the same concentration.

Karmic Debt Numbers

The report checks for the four Karmic Debt numbers — 13, 14, 16 and 19 — in five places: your birth day itself, and the working of your Life Path, Destiny, Soul Urge and Personality. A Karmic Debt number is almost always invisible in the finished result: Rohit’s Soul Urge is an ordinary 5, and only the working shows the 14 beneath it.

They are more common than their name suggests. Across every date from 1926 to 2026, 13% of people were born on the 13th, 14th, 16th or 19th, 29% have one in their Life Path working, and about 4 in 10 have at least one from their date alone. In our 600-name sample, 31% had one in a name number. Each is traditionally read as a lesson rather than a punishment: 13 as focus and honest hard work, 14 as moderation and commitment, 16 as letting go of pride, 19 as balancing independence with accepting help. Our Karmic Debt Number Calculator explains each in depth, and this report uses exactly its rules for the date.

The Letter Y — and Why It Matters for Indian Names

Is Y a vowel? Numerologists genuinely disagree. Dr Juno Jordan never counted it as one; Lynn Buess always did; Hans Decoz counts it when it sounds like a vowel. It decides which total the letter joins — the Soul Urge or the Personality.

For Indian names this is not a small question. In our sample, 41% of names contained a Y — Priya, Divya, Vijay, Sanjay, Aditya, Yadav — and in every one of them, counting Y as a vowel changed the Soul Urge. PRIYA YADAV, for instance, has a Soul Urge of 4 with Y as a consonant and 6 with Y as a vowel. The report treats Y as a consonant by default, matching our Soul Urge calculator, and gives you a checkbox to count it as a vowel instead. If the Y in your name sounds like a vowel — as in Priya — it is worth seeing both.

Why Another Calculator May Give You Different Numbers

If you compare this report with another site’s, some numbers may not match. Usually neither is wrong — there are six points where numerology systems genuinely diverge:

  • The letter system. This report uses Chaldean values for name numbers (1 to 8, assigned by sound), the system most Indian numerologists use. Most Western sites use Pythagorean values (1 to 9 in alphabetical order). The same name often gives different numbers. Our Chaldean Numerology Calculator explains both.
  • Master numbers. This report keeps 11, 22 and 33 in the Life Path, Destiny, Soul Urge and Maturity. Our compatibility tools reduce them, because compatibility is mapped between the nine single digits — so the same date can show Life Path 11 here and 2 in the Love Compatibility Calculator.
  • How the date is added. Reducing day, month and year separately and adding every digit at once usually agree — but not always. Across 1926 to 2026 they disagree for about one date in eight. For 19 January 1975, one method gives 6 and the other 33. The report tells you when your date is one of these.
  • The letter Y, as above.
  • The Lo Shu grid — whether the Mulank and Bhagyank are added in.
  • Which name you entered. A full name with a middle name, without it, or with a married surname all give different results. Most mismatches turn out to be this.

How This Report Changed — and Why

When we checked the earlier version of this report against our own individual calculators, we found it disagreed with them in three places — which meant a reader could see one number on a dedicated page and a different one here.

  • It hid master numbers. The earlier report reduced the Destiny and Soul Urge to a single digit, while our Destiny and Soul Urge calculators keep 11, 22 and 33. In our 600-name sample, that hid a master number for 18% of people.
  • It never checked the birth day for Karmic Debt, although our Karmic Debt calculator does — missing a debt for the 13% of people born on the 13th, 14th, 16th or 19th.
  • It added the Life Path working differently from our Karmic Debt calculator, so the two disagreed about a Life Path debt for about one date in eleven.

All three now match. The report also gained the Y option, Maturity, Personal Year and Month, the bridges, both kinds of missing numbers, the ruling planets, and the full working.

How to Read Your Report

Look for patterns across the numbers rather than reading each alone. When several share a theme — a Life Path, Destiny and Mulank all leaning towards independence — that quality is likely to be strong and consistent. When they differ, the contrast is just as revealing, and the bridge numbers show where to look.

There is no good or bad set of numbers. Each carries its own strengths and difficulties, and the report is best treated as a starting point for honest reflection — a mirror rather than a forecast.

Common Misconceptions

  • “One number tells you everything.” A full reading looks at several numbers together, and at the gaps between them.
  • “A missing number is a defect.” No date fills the whole Lo Shu grid, and most Indian names are missing a 6 among their letters. Missing numbers are read as qualities to develop.
  • “Missing numbers need a paid remedy.” Be cautious of anyone selling expensive products to fill them.
  • “A Karmic Debt number is a curse.” About 4 in 10 people have one from their date alone. It is read as a lesson, not a punishment.
  • “A master number makes you superior.” Master numbers are read as carrying more intensity and more difficulty, not higher rank.
  • “Different calculators disagree, so it is meaningless.” Most differences come from the letter system, master numbers, the adding method, the letter Y or the name entered.
  • “Numerology needs your birth time.” It uses only your name and date of birth.
  • “It is scientifically proven.” Numerology is a traditional belief system, best enjoyed for reflection and curiosity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What numbers do I get in this report?

Life Path (Bhagyank), Mulank, Destiny (Namank), Soul Urge, Personality, Maturity and your current Personal Year and Month — plus two Bridge numbers, your Lo Shu grid, your Karmic Lessons and a Karmic Debt check.

What are Mulank, Bhagyank and Namank?

The three numbers Indian numerology starts from. Mulank comes from your birth day, Bhagyank from your full date of birth, and Namank from your name. They are also called the Driver, Conductor and name numbers.

Do I need my time of birth?

No. Numerology uses only your name and date of birth. Birth time matters for a horoscope, not for these numbers.

Should I use my full name or my nickname?

Use your full name as you normally write it, including any middle name. A shortened name changes the Destiny, Soul Urge and Personality numbers.

Can I type my name in Hindi?

Please type it in English letters. The Chaldean and Pythagorean tables only cover A to Z.

What is the difference between Lo Shu missing numbers and Karmic Lessons?

Lo Shu missing numbers come from the digits of your date of birth; Karmic Lessons come from the letters of your name. They are different traditions and usually give different results.

What is a Bridge number?

The difference between two core numbers — Life Path and Destiny, or Soul Urge and Personality. Its own qualities show what helps those two sides of you work together.

Should Y count as a vowel?

Traditions disagree. The report treats Y as a consonant by default and lets you count it as a vowel instead. If the Y in your name sounds like a vowel, as in Priya, try both.

Why does my Destiny or Soul Urge show 11 or 22 now?

Because the report now keeps master numbers, like our individual calculators. An earlier version reduced them, which hid a master number for about 18% of names.

Why does another site give me a different Life Path?

Usually because of the adding method (they disagree for about one date in eight) or master numbers. Different name numbers usually come from Pythagorean versus Chaldean values.

Is numerology real or accurate?

It is a traditional belief system rather than a proven science. The arithmetic here is exact and shown in full; the meanings are for reflection, not prediction.
